My wife, Maranda, and I are so blessed to be apart of a loving church family. We have had the
fortune of leading the Teen Ministry with God’s guidance since 2010. We focus on providing
Spirit-led personal testimonies being available to the teens, and teaching them how to take up
their cross daily. It is important for the teens to have positive role models in these formative
years of their lives. We routinely involve the adult members of Calvary Baptist Church in the
teens’ activities, so that both can grow through the experiences. The most valuable & influential
experiences for the teens is to read, study, & learn God’s Word in order for them to have the
desire for a personal relationship with God through his son Jesus. My goals as the Youth Leader
are not only to make disciples of Jesus but for the teens to have an unquenchable thirst of
spreading the Gospel. If they acquire this thirst they will carry it into their young adult lives and
so forth.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” We provide many opportunities for the
teens to show the light of God’s love through various events: local mini-retreats, summer camp,
bi-weekly visitations, mid-week teen services, a teen Praise Team, Youth Choir, Family Fun
Nights, monthly activities, local outreach programs, and other special events. The easiest way to
express God’s love is to show someone you care and tell them your story of how great His love
